2018/19 Master Blasters Registrations
Master Blasters (formerlyT20Blast) is a concept developed by Cricket Australia to bridge the gap between Junior Blasters (formerly MILO In2Cricket) and Junior Club Cricket. It is run by employees of Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria with assistance from parents and club volunteers, and all games are played at Hampton. There is a real carnival type atmosphere at Boss James Reserve - with 10 mini games being played at one time. Every year our centre was the biggest in Australia, and we have been given the opportunity to host the games again.
Last year Hampton had seven sides and we are looking to maintain that this year. This is a great platform for boys and girls who aren’t quite ready for hardball cricket. It really is a brilliant way to develop skills and game sense in a fast paced, fun, semi-competitive environment.
In 2015/16 we saw the first team of kids who have gone from In2Cricket through T20 Blast and into hardball rookies cricket – and the skill level compared to other teams was amazing. Last year most of that side formed the majority of our U12C side, which won the premiership. There is no doubt the time they had spent in T20 Blast cricket gave our junior seahorses the grounding needed to make the jump into hardball cricket. This participation pathway is strongly recommended
Major benefits with Master Blasters:
Please email t20Blast@hamptoncc.com.au if you have any questions, including about where your child should play. Follow the link below to register. Numbers will initially be capped. If it shows as "closed", please email t20Blast@hamptoncc.com.au and we can apply for more teams
If you have done Milo in2CRICKET before you have a mycricket ID – we can help you out if you have forgotten the email you used. Click here to register; ensuring that Hampton is the club you are enrolling for
Cost will be $99 which will include all of your games, and an exciting kit. We will provide a Hampton shirt for use in all games, and all kids get a medal at the completion of the sessions
Remember this is still cricket for Hampton CC and you cannot play U12 Rookies and Master Blasters as they are both conducted on a Saturday morning.
Volunteers – we need your assistance
We always need extra hands to help with the early days of your child’s cricket career. Master Blasters is a pretty easy concept – generally it is a parent to umpire (which is very simple), one to score (which is very simple) and one to make sure that each team and their members go to the right game (generally the hardest partJ). If you can assist, please let us know – the games really can’t function without your help
Parents playing Senior Cricket
We have plenty of opportunities for parents to play senior cricket as well. We have 6 senior sides with games on Saturday or Sunday. Skill level is varied, and experience is not a pre-requisite so if you are keen to play on a regular or fill-in basis please contact Glenn Finkelde via email or on 0400130737
