This week we celebrated the last game of the All Girls Cricket Competition (AGCC) of which Hampton Cricket Club had three teams this season.  One under 13 and two under 11 and many more girls in junior and master blasters.  All up 53 girls this season compared to 8 two seasons ago.

On Wednesday the under 11 yellow girls team completed the season unbeaten having an exciting last game against Hampton Green.

Well done to Gavin Lewis, Pat Dieter and Rob Huxley in coaching this team.

Hampton Greens first year of cricket was a very positive one and thanks to Maddy Negri (Girls coaching director) and Rich Symons for leading this team.

The under 13 the girls improved so much winning many more games than last season and we thank Matt Clarke, Rod Rae and Karen Grimmer for leading this team.

Presentation night on Wednesday was a great closing celebration to the season.  We were lucky enough to have women’s cricketer Kath Hempenstall speak to the girls about her cricket journey and present awards.  Kath played cricket for Victoria and in the big bash for the Stars and is now coaching Papua New Guinea women’s team.

We look forward to girls and women’s cricket continuing to grow.
