For now, we are simply very keen to have all players registered as soon as possible – so that we can start organising teams and registering them for leagues and fixtures.

Any new players are always warmly welcome and if you have any questions please just reply to this email or get in touch with one of the junior committee members (see below).

Grounds

Our home games are played on grounds in the Hampton area with the Club’s official home ground being Boss James Reserve.  Many of the junior games are played at Castlefield Reserve.

Both Master Blasters and Junior Blasters are held at Boss James Reserve.

Volunteers

We always need extra hands to help with the early days of your child’s cricket career. If you are keen to help out as a coach, team manager, scorer, BBQ cook, drink waiter, pitch sweeper, witches hat distributor – or just a supporter – we are keen to have you along! We will gladly pay for you to do accreditation courses to help you, but also have a heap of talented people who are more than happy to offer advice and assistance. If you have an hour to spare, we strongly recommend you complete the introduction to cricket course. It is very informative and is all done online in your own time.

Juniors Playing Senior Cricket

Juniors over the age of 13 years also have the opportunity to play turf cricket with the Club’s senior teams in the Cricket Southern Bayside competition – on either a Saturday or Sunday. If you are interested in making yourself available for senior selection, please contact Glenn Finkelde via email or on 0400 130 737.

In recent years we have been regularly fielding teenagers from U14s and U16s in our senior teams, and we want to see even more juniors playing throughout the grades this year as a supportive part of their development pathway into senior cricket.

Juniors Playing Representative Cricket

The club actively supports junior players striving to play junior representative cricket to improve their skills, play in tournaments, and compete at the highest level of cricket they can play. There are multiple opportunities to play rep cricket for both boys and girls across the different cricket associations.

HCC is involved in the formal nomination process for the associations it is a member club with – Boys (SECA), Girls (AGCC). However other options do exist and HCC is very happy to help with any juniors wanting to review what is available.

Parents playing Senior Cricket

We have plenty of opportunities for parents to play senior cricket as well. We will have eight senior mens sides and two womens’ team all playing games on Saturdays or Sundays. Skill levels are very varied, and experience is not a prerequisite.

If you are keen to play on a regular basis, or else fill-in now and then, please contact Glenn Finkelde via email or on 0400 130 737. It is a great opportunity to get back into the game – particularly in a ‘father & son’ environment, which has been so much fun for both boys and their dads.

We will provide all of the contact details for coaches and team managers as soon as the teams are finalised. For now we are simply keen to have all players for season 2026-27 register as soon as possible so that we can start organising teams and registering them for leagues and fixtures.

New players are always warmly welcome and if you have any questions please just ask (as per key contact details above). Please CLICK HERE to register!

Inclusion & Diversity

Hampton Cricket Club takes pride in promoting inclusivity and creating a sense of belonging within our local community. We are dedicated to providing a welcoming environment for players of all abilities, including those who are neurodiverse.

Neurodiverse individuals, who may experience conditions such as Autism, ADHD, PDA, Asperger’s, or Dyslexia, can face challenges when participating in traditional team sports. At Hampton Cricket Club, we strive to ensure that every player always feels valued and has the chance to enjoy the game and grow, both on and off the field.

Our coaches and team managers are supported with tools and strategies to enhance communication, make sensory adjustments, and create an environment that is both structured and adaptable to individual needs. We understand that neurodiversity is not a choice but a part of who someone is, and we embrace it wholeheartedly.

We also encourage empathy and understanding among players and their families, fostering a culture that celebrates diversity. By prioritising inclusivity, Hampton Cricket Club aims to inspire other community sports organisations to follow suit. We believe that cricket—and sport in general—can bring people together, breaking down barriers and building a stronger, more connected community.
