Cricket Blast

2026-2027 Cricket Blast (Fridays & Saturdays) Registrations Are Now Open!

At Hampton we run two different sessions as Woolworths Cricket Blast for kids, at different skill levels.

Cricket Blast (Beginners)

For those just starting out their cricket journey and developing their skills we run Cricket Blast (Beginner) skill sessions over a 12-week period. Managed by a Cricket Blast Coordinator and supported by up to 4 Hampton junior players as lead coaches, we encourage parental involvement throughout to maximise the amount of balls bowled, hit and fielded. Learn to bowl, pick up the bat properly and all the fundamentals of our great game. Focus is on fun and participation.

Time: Friday 5-6pm

Program Dates:

October 23rd 2026 – First session
December 11th 2026 – Last session before Summer holiday break
January 29th 2027 – First session back post Summer Holidays
February 19th 2027 – Last session (Presentation & BBQ)

Cricket Blast (Advanced)

For those that are almost ready to play competitive cricket we offer Cricket Blast (Advanced).

Friday night training will run separate to the Beginner program to ensure appropriate skill focus. We would generally recommend two seasons of Cricket Blast (Beginner) before transitioning to Advanced but as long as you can bowl and have a basic understanding of how the game is played, you will have no problems at all. Some coaching support is provided but parental assistance is required here for training and games as we look for a Program Coordinator and Team Coaches.

Training: Fridays 5-6pm
Games: Saturdays 9-10:30am

Program Dates:

October 16th 2026 – First training
October 17th 2026 – First game
December 12th 2026 – Last game before Summer holiday break
January 29th 2027 – First training back post Summer Holidays
January 30th 2027 – First game back post Summer Holidays
February 20th 2027 – Last game (Presentation & BBQ)

If you would like guidance on where your child fits in please reach out to Ben Kezilas on 0423 780 723.

Volunteers Needed

We always need extra hands to help with the early days of your child’s cricket career, get involved it’s more fun that way!

Cricket Blast (Beginner)

On the Friday sessions with the slightly younger kids – we strongly encourage parents to also get involved either fielding or throwing balls. Apart from a desire to help, no specific skills are required, it’s really just about involvement with your kid.

Cricket Blast (Advanced)

We are currently looking for a Coordinator to lead Friday training sessions, coordinate team coaches and manage fixtures. If this interests you please reach out to Junior Manager Michael Curtis (0428 648 738).

If you’re interested in coaching a side please say so on your registration form and we will reach out prior to season start.

On Saturdays everything runs pretty smoothly but we do still need some parental assistance to make it work – generally it is a parent to umpire (which is very simple) and one to score (which is also very simple). If you can assist, please let us know as the games really can’t function without your help. Plus it’s honestly more fun to get involved!
