Registrations are now open to play junior cricket at the Hampton Cricket Club for the 2021/22 season.

Hampton Cricket Club junior cricket is affiliated with the South East Cricket Association (formerly CMCA) and the ISEC All Girls Cricket Competition

Teams

Competitive teams are fielded in three age groups for boys – Under 12, 14 and 16. We will aim to have one U16, five U14 teams, seven U12 teams and three Rookies.

For Girls we have teams in under 13’s and looking at having 2-3 teams this season.

Hampton Cricket Club also offers Master Blasters on Saturday morning and Junior Blasters Friday late afternoon sessions (formerly T20 Blast and MILO In2Cricket) for younger boys and girls who are new to the game, or aren’t quite ready for hard ball cricket.

Rookies and under 12 teams play Saturday or Sunday morning while U14 and U16 play in Friday twilight competitions. Girls under 13’s play Wednesday evenings.

Grounds

Our home games are played on grounds in the Hampton area with the Club’s official home ground being Boss James Reserve. Many of the junior games are played at Castlefield Reserve.

Both Master Blasters and Junior Blasters are held at Boss James Reserve

Registration

To reduce the work done by our volunteers we strongly recommend you click here to register on-line. Please note, due to insurance requirements, fees are payable prior to the 1st game. Age eligibility cut-off is 1st of September. Players must be under the nominated age as of August 31st. Boys and girls between the ages of 8 – 15 on 1st September are eligible to be registered to play.

Volunteers

We always need extra hands to help with the early days of your child’s cricket career. If you are keen to help out as a coach, team manager, scorer, bbq cook, drink waiter, pitch sweeper, stump inserter, witches hat distributer – or just a supporter – we are keen to have you along. We will gladly pay for you to do accreditation courses to help you, but also have a heap of talented people who are more than happy to offer advice and assistance. If you have an hour to spare, I strongly recommend you complete the introduction to cricket course. It is very informative and is all done online in your own time

Junior Training Days and times

Training Days will be agreed with coaches and team managers, but will be held at Boss James Reserve and Castlefield Reserve.

Juniors playing Senior Cricket

Juniors over the age of 14 years also have the opportunity to play turf cricket with the Club’s senior teams in the Cricket Southern Bayside competition – on either a Saturday or Sunday. If you are interested in making yourself available for senior selection, please contact Glenn Finkelde via email or on 0400130737. In 2019/20 we had 5 teenagers play in our Premiership winning 1st XI, and plenty more throughout the grades as well and we want to see even more juniors playing throughout the grades this year. Even making yourself available for just a few games can help in your development.

Parents playing Senior Cricket

We have plenty of opportunities for parents to play senior cricket as well. We have 6 senior sides with games on Saturday or Sunday. Skill level is varied, and experience isn’t required.
